College Prep Organizations and Resources in Philadelphia
There are many organizations and services in Philadelphia that are designed to help college-bound high school students and their families as they prepare for and apply to college.
Philadelphia Futures — which also publishes Step Up to College — offers students a range of services designed to help students excel in high school, navigate the college admissions and financial aid processes and be prepared to enter and succeed in college. The Sponsor-A-Scholar Program offers students, beginning in 9th grade, year-round academic programming, a mentor, college guidance, access to college scholarships, an array of extracurricular activities, $6,000 for college-related expenses and support throughout college. College Connection offers qualified students — from 11th grade through college completion — intensive and personalized college guidance, placement and retention services. Community College of Philadelphia Advance at College Program
Community College of Philadelphia’s Advance at College dual enrollment program allows high school students the opportunity to take college-level courses while still enrolled in high school. Upon completion, students have an official college transcript on file, which may be applied towards an associate’s degree at CCP or transferred to another college or university. Philadelphia Education Fund College Access Program

Summer Search is dedicated to helping young people develop the confidence, character and skills to complete college and become leaders. Summer Search provides year-round one-to-one professional mentoring, full scholarships to two life-changing summer trips, individualized college advising and a long-lasting support network.
